The Pellevé® system delivers constant, gradual radiofrequency energy deeply into the skin, causing heat to build up where the skin and fat layer meet.  The increasion heat modifies the collagen bundles deep in the skin, causing contraction and stimulating the growth of new collagen over time.  The result: firmer, tighter, younger looking skin.

Pelleve can be used to treat the skin on the face including:

  • Sagging skin under the chin
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Wrinkles under the mouth
  • Lines or folds between the eyebrows
  • Lines on the forehead
  • Excess skin on the upper eyelid and Crow’s feet

How is Pellevé® different from other skin tightening treatments?

Pellevé® has been proven to provide safe and effective skin tightening in medical studies.  Pelleve is a non-invasive procedure, meaning no surgery is required.  There are minimal side effects and discomfort.  It has a major advantage over other systems in that it causes virtually no discomfort and therefore no anesthesia or skin cooling is needed during your Pellevé® procedure, so you can return to home or work immediately following treatment.

What should I expect during the procedure?

You will feel a deep warming sensation each time the Pelleve handpiece touches the area being treated.  No anesthetic is rquired, so you’ll be able to describe the depth of the feeling while you are having the treatment.  We continuously monitor the skin temperature with an IR thermometer to make sure we reach the ideal temperature of the skin.  If the entire face is treated, the procedure will typically take about 45 minutes.

What should I expect afterwards?

You should expect to be able to return to your daily activities with no downtime at all.  Some patients experience mild redness and swelling which usually goes away within 2-24 hours.

Dr. Keen will discuss treatment options at your initial consultation visit and will determine if you will receive significant benefit from the full face procedure or that you might be best treated in localized areas such as around the eyes and neck.  We usually recommend three treatments spaced over one month but a customized plan will developed after our initial visit.
