Cortex CO2 Erbium YAG Laser — The Ultimate Skin Resurfacing Work Station

The Cortex Laser combines the two most popular wavelengths for skin resurfacing, Carbon Dioxide and Erbium:YAG.

The CO2 laser can be used for deep resurfacing while the Erbium YAG laser is used for superficial rejuvenation.  The Cortex laser provides patients with healthy, smooth and more youthful skin.  The Cortex is the only laser that offers such flexibility, treating a wide variety of indications and providing multiple treatment parameter options.

CO2 Fractional Capabilities(Deep Resurfacing)

Treats Wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, sun damage, skin texture irregularities and pigmented lesions.

Solid State Erbium YAG Capabilities(Superficial Resurfacing)

Treats Atrophic acne scars, photo damaged skin lesions, fine lines and wrinkles and uneven pigmented(dark) lesions.

Treatment Outcome Desires

The Cortex laser technology is designed in such a way that the treating doctor has precise control over the intensity of the treatment.  Each individual treatment can be tailored to a specific need and allotted downtime.

How long will my treatment take?

Treatment usually takes less than 30-45 minutes.

What does the laser treatment feel like?

Treatment sensations vary from person to person. Topical anesthetic is applied 30 minutes prior. As tiny pulses of energy are delivered into the skin, most patients will experience a warm sharp felling and an immediate tightening of the skin.  Most patients look and feel like they have a sunburn for a few days after treatment.  Ointments will have to be covering the treated area for approximately four days so we recommend allowing at least three days of “down time” yet little to no discomfort is experienced during this time.
